The Century Cottage

Ok Positive: Location was fair Negative: No smoke alarms and air conditioning on lower level was not very good.

Lots of comfy beds but hard to get to the entrance Positive: The space inside this property was excellent and worked out perfectly for our group of six women. The house was impeccably clean, and well stocked for the most part. The location worked out well for us to drive to the strand, restaurants, stores and the port of Galveston. The beds were very comfortable and the two bathrooms were clean and fully functional. The kitchen had a nice appliances and plenty of service wear for our single night stay. We did not cook here, only snacking. We slept well without noise from outside. The hosts were great communicators. The lockbox provided us easy access to the door key. Negative: Upon arrival there were big trucks parked in the driveway and an overgrown bushy tree and wooden fence that made it difficult to walk past to get to the rear entrance staircase. The street parking was full so we had to park a ways away in front of a house at the end of the block and walk down the street with all our belongings. I worried about leaving my truck so far away. The front balcony seemed unfit to walk on. The house was warm when we arrived and the living room ceiling fan would not work despite our back and forth contact with the host. The bathrooms each had one tiny little soap, no body wash for the showers. Also, with so many beds you would think they would stock each bathroom with more hand towels so everyone didn't have to share just one.
