The Good Life

We enjoyed the large space for our large family!

Communication was great, home was good, but needs some TLC and the cleanliness was less than desired ( garbage under beds, patio doors had fingerprints, floors not mopped etc) but it didn’t stop us from having a wonderful time while in Galveston!

The house itself was great and the host was responsive and our interactions via the VRBO messaging were pleasant. There were a couple of things that could be improved. There were crumbs in one of the beds upon arrival. The garbage only gets picked up on Tuesdays, so when we arrived on Friday, all the garbage cans in the driveway were full to overflowing, and quite stinky. This left us placing all our garbage in bags on the ground through the weekend. A house of this size, accommodating huge groups of people, is going to experience large amounts of waste, so hiring a waste removal company to come out more frequently than the current once per week would be wise. The a/c intake vents were badly in need of cleaning. We cleaned them ourselves because we were turned off by the black debris covering them. Frankly, the whole house was in need of a deep clean. We sort of expected shampoo and body soap for the showers, as this has been our experience in other short-term rentals, but these were not provided. It would be nice to let the guests know that these will not be provided. There was not enough toilet paper provided for our group of 22 people for 3 days. For me personally, the lack of bedside lamps in some rooms was an annoyance. Still, if you are considering this property for your large gathering, you won't be disappointed with the house if proper measures are taken to freshen up the place.

-Guest house: Missing front door knob. Bathroom was kinda gross, shower curtain was disgusting but house was comfortable when figured out the AC remote and was nice having a guest house!!! -Play room downstairs was AMAZING!! Kids loved all the ping pong and arcade games and the TV! This was easily the best part of the house and the part we spent a lot of time in! We did have to go get some batteries due to the remote to the AC not having a back on it when we got here and was missing a battery. -Pool table had some pool sticks that need some screwing together but overall everyone loved the pool table! The sound system by the wet bar in the room doesn’t seem to work or didn’t for us but we used the tv to play music and it worked out :) -The floors were overall not very clean. We just got here and took our shoes off and walked around and our feet got gross and were black quick. We just wore socks the rest of the time in the house and was fine just bring some house shoes or wear socks everywhere! -Barn door in the master bedroom to the bathroom is falling off the hinges. Almost came off when we tried to close it to use the bathroom. -We did run out of trash bags to use and paper towels but everything else there was plenty of! Communication with hosts was great! Super easy check in and quick communication! They were very sweet! We plan to return sometime in the next year!! -Overall a 8/10 experience at the house!!

Great stay! Had plenty of room for all of us. Close to Moody Gardens and reasturants. The home was clean and smelled fresh. The only thing I wish was there was some basic spices, it is helpful when traveling by plane. Thank you for a great stay and good communications with the host.
