Casa on the Bayou

Overall, our stay was a positive experience, especially considering the home’s fantastic capacity for a large group of 20 guests. The rooms were remarkably spacious, and we were pleased to find that the beds were very clean and many electrical appliances and lights were in perfect working order. Check-in was also impressively smooth. However, there are a few maintenance areas that could use some attention to truly elevate the experience. We noticed some loose or broken furniture, and the garage door was unfortunately not functioning during our visit. While the "earthy" scent inside and the dust and leaves on the porch were likely just byproducts of the recent stormy weather, the kitchen area did have a old egg-like odor and some rusty appliances. Additionally, the carpets and window clarity could benefit from a deep clean. With a bit of maintenance and a refresh of these details, this property would be an absolute gem for large gatherings.

Beautiful home that is roomie. The host(s) responded quickly. The rooms were very clean and great sizes. The one room closer to the master bedroom did not get cool. The restroom with blue sink had a slow leak. I think the listing should mention the two rooms downstairs are connected. You have to go through one room to get out back to the sitting area. Both rooms share a jack and jill restroom. The master bedroom is connected to the gameroom. You have to go through the master bathroom to get to the gameroom. The gameroom does Not have any board games or cards, so be sure to bring your own. The gameroom was where the teens stayed the majority of the time. The kitchen had all the appliances needed except an air fryer and a mop. The main refrigerator didn't get cool, as the freezer did not freeze a bottle of water. We didn't get to enjoy the pool because it was cool outside, but it is a very nice length and well maintained. The backyard is huge with plenty of space and things to do. The biggest frustration was NOT the home. It was leaving the home because of the street construction and detour you have to take. The neighbors were very friendly at providing directions. It is a family friendly home. We are looking to rent it again.

This property had every amenity for entertainment

The house grounds and pool area are beautiful and very relaxing with the Dickinson Bayou as a view. The home is older. The 4th bathroom was found outside near the pool and the water wasn't on. The master suite toilet area stall was missing a door. And the refrigerator was spotty. The owners were quick to send repair professionals when notified. Overall, my staff enjoyed the spacious home with the pool and watching fish jump in the bayou.

We had a great time although cleanliness was an issue. Beer cans, nicotine patches, and cigars left from previous guests, poop on the toilet with no toilet paper in the bathroom, and the pool was murky. But over all the house was great and unique. Love the layout and the boat deck was beautiful.
