Beachcomber

Excellent location. It truly is just steps from the beach. Maybe a three minute walk. Our beach tent was within sight of the house. The house was clean and neat. The kitchen has every kind of appliance you could want. It has tons of plates, cutlery, pots, pans...you name it. You don't have to bring anything. This kitchen has it all. We had a minor issue with the wifi. The staff was quick to answer our text for help and walked us through troubleshooting. Come to find out, the router was unplugged. Problem solved. There is plenty of room to spread out to eat meals, inside and out. We didn't have a chance to use the fire pit but its on our list of things to do next year. Plenty of hot water. Twelve people taking showers and there was always hot water. We are annual late summer visitors to Galveston but this is our first time in this location. We definitely will be back.

The photos are real. Pretty house, inside and house. Only problem was , downstairs freezing. Upstairs warm. No ceiling fans in 2nd floor bedrooms.

Very nice house! The host was very helpful with our needs. Just a 5 minute walk to the beach. We will use them again in the future.

The location is a major highlight - a short walk to the beach with great views. The house comfortably accommodated our large group, and the A/C unit kept everyone cool. There was ample hot water both inside and in the outdoor shower. The large pantry and well supplied kitchen made cooking manageable. The Not-So-Good Unfortunately, several issues significantly impacted our experience. The property is an older house that is in need of considerable maintenance. Most urgently, the septic tank was overflowing during our stay- a serious sanitation concern that needs to be addressed immediately. The charcoal grill was heavily rusted and too filthy to use, which was disappointing for a beach rental. We also arrived to find all the trash cans already full, leaving us with nowhere to dispose of our trash.On the cleanliness front, we found large cockroaches in the kitchen and downstairs areas, this is unacceptable and needs professional pest control. Finally, the bathroom supplies provided were grossly inadequate for a group of 18 over a 4 days. Each person received only one set of towels for the entire stay and a quarter-size bar of soap and a tiny bottle of shampoo. This forced us to do two loads of laundry every single day- not what anyone wants to do on vacation. We hope the owner takes this feedback seriously so future guests can enjoy the great location without these frustrations.
