Lighthouse Landing

The location of the home was fantastic, and the home itself was equipped with everything we needed. The beds were clean and comfortable, and the kitchen was lovely. The upper floor was excellent and, overall, was the best part of the property.The garage/bunkroom/game room level was also great. The beds were comfortable, and the bedding was nice. However, the couch in the living area was in very rough condition, with wooden pieces sticking out. There was also a noticeable, unusual smell on this level. I purchased plug ins to help with the odor.Unfortunately, the bottom-floor living/pool table room and bedroom area was a different experience. There appeared to be a significant water leak in this area that had damaged the flooring. Several boards were peeling and need replacement. When walking on the floors, water would come up through the cracks. This area also had a strong musty odor. I purchased DampRid buckets and plug ins in an attempt to help with the moisture and smell. The odor remained for the entire duration of our stay. I emailed the management team about the issue, and they said they would look into it; however, based on the condition of the area, it did not appear to be a new problem.The boathouse is very run down. I would not plan on using it. The slip hoists were broken with boards snapped in half. The outdoor kitchen was full of trash, bugs and spider webs.This house is huge, comfortable but, needs some love!!! We will be back if repairs are made. :)

We had a great time at this property we totally had a blast, hoping to come back soon!!!

This house has so much potential!!! The house is great for large groups… so many rooms and bathrooms and lots of space for everyone. The outside of the house is a different story. Tiles falling off the outside walls, spiders and dirt on the chairs outside- had to clean them before we could sit. Grass cuttings covering the walk ways. The boat house is filthy and abandoned. With all that being said we had a great time…. I just feel like if we spend 10,000 on a house for 5 days it should be immaculate and everything should work, be spotless and ready to use. My hopes that from reading other reviews these issues would have been fixed prior to us getting there… I reserved this almost a year ago. I feel like the other reviews of this house are very fair after staying there. Hopefully in the future they will really listen to the reviews… again could have been a 5 star review had they had just done that.

Inside the house was fine. Comfortable beds. Kitchen well equipped, A/C worked great for such a large house. Plenty of towels in bathrooms. Kids were disappointed that only one of the arcade machines in the game room actually worked. Ice machines in both kitchens did not work. Appeared to be blood stains on pillowcase in master suite.Outside of house in need of maintenance. Screens torn on upstairs porch. Many of the columns on upstairs porch facing lake had large areas of missing "rock". Couple of chairs around the pool were very wobbly and did not feel safe to use. Sidewalk along the lake was full of dead grass. The boat dock area is in desperate need of attention! I do understand the bug and spider situation on structures that are on the lake, as I own lakefront property myself. However, the sink, tabletop area, cabinets and chairs were some of the most disgusting I have seen. Pressure washer and bug spray would definitely help the problem.All in all, our family vacation (20 adults/6 kids) was a very enjoyable time. I did feel, for the money that was spent on the rental, some of the outside areas should have been maintained much better. That was definitely disappointing.
